Starting an online business is all the rage at the moment as a lot of people are just plain fed up of turning up at a job or even a business site at a set time each and every day. If you can do business in your pajamas, why on earth would you not want to do that?
However, the thing that gets in the way of most people is that they do not really believe it is possible to do their work the way they would most prefer to do it. they think they are trapped and so they keep playing life out the way some other person prescribed for them.
Of course, to each their own! And I know that we need different kids of people to make the world go round so please, more power to you if you are really doing your own thing.

What do you need to start an online business?
1. Have something to sell
It can be your thing – You could choose to sell your experience, your skill, your knowledge. Can you do something that others cannot do? Then there you have a coaching program or maybe even a ‘Done for you’ service.
I suppose it all depends on how free you want to be. If you have to be present on a client site to deliver your ‘done-for-you’ service then it is not the most convenient way to do things but maybe, you are happy with that and that is absolutely fine. However, if you are like me, then I have designed myself a business that means I can do stuff for my clients from wherever I am with an internet connection. There is so much great technology out there and so we can share screens etc and I can point things out or they can just send me emails and I can log on in and get things done for them. I love that I can serve people and live life my way!
2. Take it further and create more products
So, the first thing I think you should create is a coaching or ‘done for you’ service because you can immediately start to sell that without too much preparation. It is what you do so you can easily get started showing people what you do. OR maybe you chose to sell someone else’s product like in network marketing or as an affiliate marketer.
Something else to do to build out your business would be to create something of less value so that you can sell to a range of people. Some people can afford to work with you directly. Others cannot and if you are anything like me, then you want to serve a great number of people so you can create something that gives them the information to go off and try to do the thing themselves.
Even if you choose to sell someone else’s product, consider selling something that you have created so that your customers and clients and distributors get a feel for who you are and why they should consider moving up your funnel to work with you.
3. You need to get traffic across to your offers
What is traffic? That is a term which marketers have termed people on the internet. I don’t much like the term as it makes you forget that what you are doing is serving actual real people. People with needs, wants, desires, pains who want a solution. Thinking of them as traffic makes you forget why you got into business in the first place.
Don’t make the mistake of not thinking of people as people.
The final step here to serve as many people as possible and to create a business and an income source online is to invite people to take a look at your solutions and then they can choose the level at which they would like to work with you.
OK, those are the three things that you need, except you need to get them in the right mix in order for them to work. No, it is not easy to build the right audience that loves you but one thing you kow for certain, the more time you spend dithering and thinking about it, the more time it will take.
