You were a child…
Wandering around…
Dreaming…
Believing that all kinds of amazing things could happen to you…

You learnt to be cynical, distrusting, and ‘safe’
You gave up dreams and called them fantasies…
And you chose to live in the ‘real’ world…
A part of you died.
And yes, on the outside, it looks like you are still alive…
You have some of the trappings of success…
Or maybe you don’t…
You go to your religious organisation…
You look the part of a true believer…
Singing the songs…
Dancing the dances…
Volunteering your time…
Speaking the words…
And yet, there is disillusion on the inside that you try to hide from…
There is a deep distrust that you pretend, is not real…
But your whole life is carefully designed for safety…
For security…
No trust required, no faith required…
Just reality.
So what if you have to kill off your dreams to achieve this ‘safe’ life…
So what that you are not free and you are so scared of anything changing…
Like governments…
Or politicians changing rules to suit their rich friends…
Or foreigners coming to take yours…
Or even foreign policies affecting the balance of your carefully crafted life…
Or your partner choosing to change the way they do things…
Or friends changing something, anything…
Change unsettles you…
ANY KIND OF CHANGE!
You do not see that you have always been taken care of…
You think it is because you dropped the dreams and chose to live in the ‘real and safe’ world of your own making…
And you get what you get, I suppose…
An okay-ish life…
Based on everything remaining just so.
And as long as you ignore the longing in your heart, then everything will be fine…
And as long as no one around you changes or demands anything too much of you, then everything will be fine…
Except…
You are hungry for something more…
You want to experience more of life…
YOUR HEART is screaming that this cannot be it…
You remember being a child…
You remember the feeling of freedom…
You KNOW there is more than this…
But how?
You look around and you see everything you have built – A lot you don’t like but feel you have to live with and some you do like but you do not get to spend all that much time doing that stuff…
You dream of breaking free…
Of following the cry in your heart…
Of writing, creating, speaking out your message…
Of living on the edge…
Of doing something new, something only you can do…
BUT HOW?
And so you stay in place…
Hoping that a very clear ‘how’ will be revealed…
but that is not the way the faith walk works, honey…
You can sit there for all eternity, waiting for the ‘how’ and nothing will change except maybe for the worse because change is inevitable.
You have to get off your awesome arse and CHOOSE to deliberately design life the way you want it…
The way you REALLY want it…
Not this ‘it is what is expected of me’ way…
It is time to stop teetering on the edge and simply take the leap…
Knowing that you will be taken care of…
Today is a great day to trust.
