It is easy to get trapped in the fine art of looking for the one BEST way to create a life and a business that you love.
It is easy to jump from strategy to strategy hoping, praying that this time, it will work for you just like it worked for all those other people who you read about or stalk on social media.
You chop and change and hope and pray and dart around the place, looking for the ONE BEST EVER way and all the time, you just ain’t doing anything long enough to get a result and you wonder, oh, you wonder why on earth things are just not working for you.
Honey, you are looking for the magic bullet again.
And that bullet is the most elusive thing on the planet.
It darts here and there…
It keeps people searching…
They think they are working hard but really they are wiling away time, chasing something that does not exist.
The result is found in the consistent, continuous daily action.
Not in the lurking, wondering, start-stopping that most are engaged in.
It is so hard to get focused at times and it is so easy to lose heart when things do not work out as fast as you want them to, so I understand why you still do this thing that you do.
I sometimes catch myself doing it too.
For instance, today, before writing this post, I got caught up in thinking whether it was worth it to write it or maybe there is a more SEO friendly topic to cover, and while I am thinking about that, let’s go see what my favourite guru of the moment is saying about how to write blog posts and oh my goodness, while I am on the way to that, let me see what this other person is saying today on Facebook and wow… What of that person on LinkedIn, maybe if I follow their strategy, I will definitely get a 1000 more visitors to my blog this week. And on and on it can go, if I let it.
But then, I remember…
I internally whack myself over the head and I remember that the result is only ever found in consistent action.
Because the truth is, all these potential strategies can work but NONE of them WILL work if I keep darting from one to the other.
You may have heard of search engine optimization, guest blogging, Facebook groups marketing, LinkedIn Marketing, twitter Marketing, Pay per click advertising, Instagram, meet up groups, webinars, tele seminars, local newsletter marketing, book publishing as a means to get attention and so, SO much more.
And you can keep darting from one to the other thinking that THIS TIME, this is absolutely going to work for me.
And so you keep casting your net sooooo wide and never ever get deep enough into the strategy to hit the vein of gold.
And in fact, you might get to the proverbial ‘three feet from gold’ and you will never know it.
Because just as you are about to break through, you jump to the next strategy for CERTAIN success.
Honey, it is time to stop with the magic bullet search and start with the ‘I am committed to following this through until it works’ plan instead.
You frustrate yourself when you keep allowing yourself to get distracted.
Every thing DOES WORK, for sure but you have to focus on something until it DOES WORK FOR YOU!
There is no one way, stop looking for it.
There is your way and you determine that by picking something and sticking with it.
The flakiness is keeping you from success and it is time for that to stop.
Get clear in your head about what you want to make happen…
Make a plan to get there on your own or work with a coach to make a plan…
Keep your head down and get to work making it happen.
Focus on learning as much as you can about your chosen strategy and then implement all the learning.
Be disciplined about not spending time checking what others are doing because it just distracts you from your path and makes everything take longer.
Your way is waiting for you to discover it.
Will you?
And will you stay on it long enough to hit the vein of gold?
