I used to live an unquestioned life…
Passively agreeing with anyone that seemed more knowledgeable than me…
Passively believing that I was inherently flawed and unable to make wise choices for myself…
Passively trying to avoid hell…
Desperately avoiding having to look within myself…
Wanting others to take responsibility for my decisions (even though I was always considered a rebel!)…
Because I might make a mistake.
I might do something that was unforgivable…
Everything was dimmed inside of me.
Because I did not want to look, I did not want to see, I did not want to be responsible.
It also meant I could never be free or rich.
Only the deliberate get those joys.
I finally woke up.
It took bankruptcy, depression to kick me awake…
It took having the HUGE why of wanting to watch my children grow up, rather than be trapped in a dispensary for most of their childhood to wake me up…
It was enough to get me questioning what I had always believed to be true…
It was enough to get me thinking again.
