We all know that we have a limited amount of time but to watch some people, it would seem they can replace their time any time they want to.  If I am honest, There are times when I have wasted a considerable amount of time on things that looking back, do not add anything good to my life.

And you can probably say the same, right?

So, let’s talk about things to stop wasting time on…

1. Scrolling The Facebook Feed

Yes, I know it is great to see what everyone is up to but really, over twenty times a day?!!  I love Facebook as much as the next person and yet, I know that the secret to life and success is not found there.  All the time spent scrolling the Facebook feed is time I could be producing things that could change people lives and build up my business.  How much time do you spend staring at the Facebook feed?

2. Focusing on the negatives

Yes, you many not be exactly where you want to be yet but how does it help to wallow in self-pity and all the stuff you do not have yet?  That is simply a waste of time. Instead, spend time bigging yourself up as you see the changes you have brought into your life by continually putting one foot in front of the other.  Then keep moving forward.  It is easier to convince yourself to move when you feel good about you than it is, when you focus on the negativity.

3. Doing Things You Are Not Best Suited For

It takes considerably longer for you to do something you are not best suited to do.  In that time, you could have asked someone better qualified to do it at a fraction of what you are worth.  It might seem like you are saving money by doing everything yourself but please remember, your most valuable and also irreplaceable asset is time, not money!

4. Doing Things You Do Not Like To Do

It is common knowledge that you always have to do things you do not like to do, if you are to be responsible but you do not have to live like a ‘norm’ and accept common knowledge as truth.  You can choose to design a life that is full of activities you enjoy taking part in.  No sudden moves though, start slowly but surely to eliminate more of the things you do not enjoy doing and start more of what you love to do.

5. The Unnecessary Drama Around You

Everyone has drama in their life and it is usually brought to them by other people.  You do not have to get involved in all that – You can choose to step away, put your head down and focus on the success you are creating.  Some will be shocked by the change in your attitude but do it for you.

6. Unforgiveness and Resentments

These things block your creativity and innovation and you need that to create success in business and life.  Stop wasting time feeling resentful of people who have probably forgotten what they did to offend you.  Instead choose to let things go easily – This does not mean you allow yourself to be places in the same situation again but it does mean you are free and clear inside of yourself.

7. Worrying

It helps nothing to worry!  If you can do something about it, do it.  If you cannot do anything, then stop wasting time on worrying about it and find something more productive to do with your time and mind!

8. Caring What Other People Think Or Say About You

Now, this is a huge time suck and it gets in the way of you doing what you are called to do in this one life you have.  Whether people care for you or not, their opinion is not the biggest deciding factor for your life.  You must understand that and choose to stop wasting time worrying about what people think and just get to work creating the life and business you want.  They then get a choice as to whether they come with you or not.

9. Comparing Yourself To Everyone Else

This can be a follow on from the last point or even just a standalone thing.  In this wonderful world of connectivity, it is easy to compare your regular life to the highlights of other people’s lives.  You forget that you only ever see the highlights unless someone is particularly negative (and why would you want that in your feed?!).  YOu then compare yourself to all these people and find yourself wanting and then you start to focus on the negatives again.  It is a time suck – It is time to stop wasting time comparing yourself.  Instead, put the blinkers on and do the next thing!

10. Thinking About The Good Old Days

They were never as good as you remember and even if they were, you cannot go back there.  So, instead choose to start creating a good day today.  Be here now and handle what needs to be handled today.  Stop wasting time in the past.

11. Having Arguments

If someone does not agree with you, you are not going to be able to argue them into agreeing, you know?  It is okay to agree to disagree.  Your time is better spent proving yourself right by taking some form of action.  I must admit, I do like a good argument with someone who can take it but as I get older, I realise that I always end up wondering if I offended them by coming on too strong and so then I waste more time checking that they could actually handle it.  My time is better spent agreeing to disagree.

12. Following Someone Else’s Path For You

For a very long time, I tried to live my life to satisfy my parents and went the way they set out for me.  It was a waste of my time.  I would have been better off finding the courage to follow my own path earlier in life but hey, no point looking back, right?  We keep moving forward.

13. Waiting For The Voice From Heaven

Honey, you already know what to do. Stop wasting time praying, pleading with God for a word instead of courageously taking the next step and pushing on some doors on the path.  The vision you have for your life has been given you to fulfil so stop doubting and start taking action.

14. Allowing Others To Manipulate You

This can be a very subtle thing.  You may not even know you are being manipulated.  It is time to get clear on your reasons for doing things – Is it just to please someone else?  Is it because if you don’t, you may be ousted from the peer group you are a part of? Is this really what you want to be doing with your life?  Remember, what you allow is what will continue so please be giving but do not allow people to use you.

15. Being Indecisive

Everytime, I asked my daughter for an opinion, she used to say ‘I don’t know’ and I had to train her out of that because if you refuse to make up your own mind, then others will tell you what to do and it may not be to your benefit at all.  Stop wasting time in indecision.  Consider the facts quickly and make a decision.

16. Waiting For The Perfect Time

It does not exist. Today is the day that you begin.  Today is the day that you ask people to buy your products. Today is the day you start to create the life and the business you want.

Will you stop wasting time and start creating success?
