Is it just me or does it seem a little crazy to make your whole spirituality be based on a book?
No matter how wonderful the book is…
It is a static, lifeless book!
Put together by men like you and I, with flaws like you and I…
And sometimes, let’s be real honest here, there is some seriously cray-cray stuff in there that does not seem accurate or right…
And yet, most follow along with it, sometimes VERY LITERALLY and then you end up with wars and killing and all of that nonsense that religion can bring when people use a static book to tell themselves that they are right in acting in a stupid manner!
And the more passive followers just go along with it, without the killing and destruction, but they are certainly too scared to get off their backsides and do some world-changing just in case they get struck by lightning for daring to think they could be so bold!
Surely, we have to be a little more discerning than that!
Surely, my relationship with Spirit is more important than following a static book to the letter!
I am that girl that longed for God since forever!
Longed to be close to Him, to be intimate with Him…
I have sat in His lap for as long as I can remember, receiving love, instruction and more…
But then I would come away from those special times and have to make it all fit into the context of a book because that was supposedly the right way to do things…
And so I learnt to distrust the truth in my heart and take on the ‘truth’ in a book…
This made God seem far away from me and I suppose it made me a lot more malleable…
People could and did try to control me by telling me that I was acting in unchristian ways…
Which just meant I was doing something they did not want me to do…
And for a while there, I would let the guilt eat me up…
Again, keeping me far from God who I thought disliked my crazy, horrid, sinful ways!
Thankfully, He cared enough to keep calling me back to that special spot on His lap where I KNEW I was loved…
And finally I found the courage to take what empowered me and leave the rest… WITHOUT THE GUILT!
Now… I am kinda done with trying to pretend it all makes sense because it does not! I love to read my sacred book still but I come at it from a freedom place.
And now, I am a heckuva lot more confident about my relationship with Spirit to KNOW that truth really does stand up to scrutiny so I need not just follow along like a brainless mare when it feels weird and strange and completely unlike the God I know and love!
And that is why I can offer freedom to people because in some ways, I am irreverent of things that others hold so sacred…
Some clients have come to me so bound up in religious nonsense…
They have been burnt by people claiming to have the direct line access to love and God but really, it is all based on tradition and a static book!
These ‘leaders’ then end up wounding my clients by wielding horrid power over them, by keeping them stuck in place because they tell these clients that they are guilty of all kinds of sins, should be ashamed of themselves unless they pass through some horrid path of forgiveness and that they should fear the punishment that will absolutely fall on them unless they repent in the way that this ‘leader’ thinks that they should.
And truth is, a few years ago, I would not have been able to write this for fear that I would have the wrath of God poured out on me…
But now I know better!
I found freedom in the real deal!
Not the fake deal that is propagated ferociously by those people who want the certainty of a book that never changes…
That is not Spirit!
That is not love!
That is fear cloaked as holiness and spirituality but really, no matter how well-meaning people are about it, it is NOT GOD!
Fear is so insidious – It appears in the most unlikely places…
Humans in their quest for certainty and stability make God in their own image and try to make everyone go along with it…
Humans try to make the vastness of God/Universe/Spirit/Higher power more manageable and so we get people desperately trying to make God fit in with their limited ways of looking at the world…
And still from generation to generation, things that were held sacred change…
A new way of looking at static texts arises…
And so what was once absolutely evil becomes acceptable in another generation…
So why be so bound up now?!
WHY BIND OTHER PEOPLE UP?!
So, honey, are you burnt out on religion yet?
Are you fed up with trying to make your hurt heart believe that this is love?!
Are you tired of jumping through crazy hoops that some person told you, you had to jump through and now you find that you don’t feel any closer to Higher Power?
Are you ready to be free?
The love you long for, is closer than you have been led to believe…
