We get this idea that being spiritual must mean that we give up desire.
And so there are a lot of spirit-driven souls caught up in lack as though it is a badge of honour.
It is not.
Of course, it is okay if that is what you truly want but if you are only staying in lack because you think the Divine demands it of you, then please stop it.
There is no joy in that kind of surrender.
And we can all feel it.
There is a difference between really truly being content with nothing and ‘trying to’ be content with nothing.
Like most things, reaching what you consider to be success will demand a certain amount of focus and discipline from you and that can be tough especially if you are contending with ideas that you are not allowed to want what you want.
I know how that feels.
For most of my life, I had allowed myself to be conditioned into thinking that I was EVIL for wanting anything.
I tried to make myself more spiritual by settling for nothing but I could never quite make it take.
And finally, Papa got through to me and helped me see that He was not withholding anything from me.
I was punishing myself for desiring and then punishing myself FURTHER by refusing to allow myself to get what I wanted, except in those crazy moments when I tried to pretend that acquiring material things was more important to me than my relationship with Papa. I would have these periods of time where I would try to ignore my spirituality as I saw it as a crutch to my ambitions instead of realising that growing my business, growing my wealth was a part of my spiritual journey.
I have learnt to stop comparing myself to those who are truly content with nothing because I am not them.
And that is okay.
I can define success however I want to and I can choose to go after it and I did and still continue to expand my prosperity, with my spirituality as my foundation.
I stopped putting false limits on and I stopped making myself wrong.
Do you need to do that too?
And just allow yourself to prosper the way you want to? in all areas of your life?
