The key thing here is that you learn how to promote yourself and your thing, whatever you choose.  That is what will determine how successful you are at growing your online business opportunity.

So, here is a quick step by step strategy for you to get results as soon as possible…

1. Decide who would want what you have

Depending on how long you have been in business, you may have heard of the ideal customer – IT IS CRITICAL to your success, particularly at the start of your business when no one knows who you are.  Take a few minutes to write down everything you think your ideal customer would look like.

Their age, location, values, desires, pains, challenges.  Write it all out.

Guess if needs be for now and then refine as you actually start selling.

2. Build a Facebook Page

I am convinced that every business can find an audience on Facebook and their reach is growing and growing.  So, to make your life simple, right now, go build yourself a business page based on your name (unless you have a very niche product) and start to put content on it.  bear in mind that people come to Facebook to feel good or to lurk and see what their friends are up to.  So, you can start by putting some inpsirational quotes that you borrow from someone else (tell them that you are goign to share it on your page – this is quite good for networking with other entrepreneurs).

Then start to think of content that your people – your ideal customer – might like to hear and start creating it.  Bear in mind that images do better than text updates, videos do pretty good for reaching a lot of people and it also helps you be seen by your prospective audience.  Videos of you, really help people feel like they know you which really does speed up the process of getting them to buy something from you.  So, don’t be camera shy.

5 to 8 posts a day is a great way to start building out a Facebook page and then have a Facebook advert running to promote your page to your chosen ideal customer.  And invite people from your profile as well.

3. Create a free giveaway

Hopefully as you start to build out the Facebook page, you will start to get some engagement from people who like your posts.  Even if you do not, decide about a free giveaway that yoru ideal customer would be drawn to.

It could be a discount on their next purchase, a sample chapter of your book, a bit of your digital information product, a strategy session with you – Something easy for you to produce and also, attractive to your ideal client.

4. Start collecting contact details

Getting people onto your Facebook page is great but now you want to move them to your mailing list.  See the Facebook page as the warming up phase and now, you want the warmest leads and prospects to move over to your mailing list.

So, you give people the free giveaway in return for their contact details.

Use things like Aweber to store the contact details.  If you do not have a website of your own (get one as soon as you can!), then use something like Leadpages to create a webpage that your prospects can go to in order to do the swap.

5. Send out emails/texts inviting people to buy from you

And now, you really start to sell.  Yes, yuo can sell directly from Facebook but it is considerably tougher than selling to people who have chosen to come onto yoru mailing list.  See it as a ladder system and the further people are up the ladder, the more close they are to buying from you because they are warmer.

At least twice a week, make sure you send out an email – educational, inspirational and/or entertaining.  At the end of each email, make an invitation.  Every 5 emails or so, let the email be completely sales- based.  And then start to tweak things until it all starts to work and you are making regular sales from your mailing list.


Some budding entrepreneurs do this for about a month and then give up thinking things are not working – the truth is, they did not stay on the path long enough.

Do not be them!

Stay on path and in time, you will realise your dreams and find that you are taking advantage of the online busines oportunities to get rich and to live out your purpose.
