I have always had big dreams, big ideas, big plans for my life but I have not always followed through on them.
Prior to 10 years ago, I tended to choose the broad path…
The path that most people find themselves on…
The path of convenience…
Doing things only when they feel good…
Doing things only when they feel inspired…
Needless to say, I did not make much happen on that path.
I did a lot of feeling sorry for myself though…
About how hard I had it…
About how my upbringing, my parents, my spirituality, my responsibilities did not allow me to follow through on my big dreams…
But the simple truth was that I had not surrendered to the vision…
ACTIVELY surrendered, I mean…
I was still in excuse-land…
Pretending to want something but really wanting to stay comfortable much more than I wanted that something.
Which land are you in?
Excuse-land or determined-land?
Are you daily doing something to further your vision?
or are you buying into your own bullshit about how you cannot do anything,
- your skin colour means it is impossible for you,
- your responsibilities mean you cannot do it yet,
- your lack of finance means you cannot make a start,
- your uncertainty means you do not know what to do,
- your spirituality means you have to be at your religious organisation 7 days a week in every spare moment,
- your accent means no one will take you serious,
- your tiredness means you need to rest,
- it is your friends’ birthday and you simply must go out with them,
- or you want to stay in even though you know that you want to cultivate new relationships and hopefully find the one…
- blah, blah, BLAH! Which means anything that tells you that you cannot actively create your vision now…
And maybe, like lots of spiritual people, you have this vague sense that being driven to succeed is wrong and so you do this whole ‘passive surrender’ thing where you excuse yourself from having to do anything to push you forward because, hey… you are waiting on the Lord or some other such nonsense…
Honey, honey, honey – What do you want?
Because if you keep buying into the bullshit, that is all you will get…
We are spiritual people of vision…
People with a calling…
A deep longing to impact the world in some way, while creating a life we adore…
And so, honey what will it be? Excuse land or active surrender to the vision – land? Determined-land?
If you are that determined spiritual type, then right now, open your heart up again to Spirit within…
Pray with me: From this moment, I am an active participant in the manifestation of my vision. I repent from my more passive leanings and I choose to actively seek guidance and follow through on it. I surrender to the vision inside of me – it is a good one and I deliberately choose to partner with the Universe now to bring it to life. Thank You, Spirit that it is a done deal. Amen.
And now, as you go into the day, be receptive to intuitive promptings and swiftly act on them.
Pull back from activities that do not take you where you want to go, no matter how legitimate they seem.
Actively surrender to creating your vision.
And where you have felt that it is too big and too deluded for you, let those thoughts go. Replace them with the reality that every big thing is created one little step at a time. So who the hell can say what is reasonable or deluded? It is only the determined soul who will ever know.
Be that determined soul.
