You can already see how your life will be affected as you go from hospital visit to hospital visit, you can feel all the fear already and you begin to wonder what you did to bring it upon her, you find ways to blame yourself, you imagine all kinds of things

You can decide what you want and focus on that while doing, with as little attachment, whatever needs to be done in this moment.

So, you have no money in the account and the bills are due and the bailiff is threatening to come round and you are about to feel scared of what the neighbours will think, whether you will lose your job when they find out just how silly you have been with money, whether your family will look down on you, whether your credit rating will ever recover and then also add to all of that, the beating yourself up for being in this situation when you are supposed to be a grown up, then add on waking up in a cold sweat at 3am each morning as you worry and worry about how to make a little stretch soooooo far and what to do, what to do, and how terrible you are as a parent for putting your children through this …

I could give you all kinds of examples and we always have a choice to get all dramatic and scared about all kinds of worst-case scenarios or we can detach from all that nonsense and lean into the Divine while focusing on what we desire.

No, we do not ignore what needs to be done in the moment but we do not give it meaning that is detrimental to our mood.
.
I know this takes some work and in fact, some will read this and think it is impossible and count me out as some kind of la-dee-dah spiritual nut with no real world wisdom and that, of course, is up to you.

You can choose to believe you have no choice but to react the way you always have and so therefore continue to get the same old results.
.
Or you can choose something new.
.
What will it be for you, my love?

Because really, that is all that matters.

I can tell you this – Whatever you place your attention on, will expand.
.
If you focus on feeling bad about everything, you will continue to feel bad about everything.
.
If you focus on feeling good, despite everything, you will have more and more things to feel good about.

It may not feel like it in the moment, but it is true.

IT WILL TAKE DISCIPLINE, I cannot emphasize this enough.

You are well-trained in making everything dramatic so now you have to retrain the brain to focus on what you want, not what you don’t.

It will feel hard and maybe even silly to begin with.

So what?

OK then TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Detach from anything happening around you and just place all your attention on what you choose to feel and what you choose to bring into your life.

Act on whatever is front of you to do, without emotion. Do not speculate or anticipate future dramas – Is it happening now? No? Then forget about it.

Just keep focusing in on what you do want. Feel those good feelings, feel that you are so completely loved, safe, supported, protected.
