I did not realise just how much I did not like myself until I hit bankruptcy and a 4 year period of depression…
I had hidden away from my self-dislike – It was not as strong as a self-loathing but it definitely was not self-love.
I thought that putting everyone else first was the key to a happy life.
But that is not true.
And lots of people have been brought up to put everyone else’s needs before their own…
And most people think this is the selfless way to live.
The thing is, most people go to the grave dissatisfied.
So, simply going the way of most people is NOT a winning plan!
I have worked with many clients who, on the one hand, want to go after all their dreams of building an income source online that replaces their current income. All so that they can create a life doing what they want with who they want, when they want.
And yet, when we start working together, they struggle to take first steps because they simply do not love or value themselves enough to believe that they are allowed to do it.
And so they keep putting other people’s agendas ahead of their own…
Until I come along and call them out.
And then they realise that the lack of self-love and self-worth is killing off any chance they may have of living out their dreams.
Things change rapidly when this is realised.
Building a business should be simple…
Until you have all this underlying nonsense telling you that your dreams take last place to everyone else’s…
Telling you not to value yourself…
Telling you not even to overly think about it!
In theory, you should simply build an audience around who you are and what you have to offer – How can you do this if you don’t really believe you have anything of value to offer? How can you do this if you secretly doubt that you are worthy? How can you do this if you do not love yourself?
And then you would capture them into your platform – What if you spend all the time hating on yourself because you think you are never good enough to figure out technical stuff or good enough to stay consistent? How will you do this part?
And then you offer them something for sale – Again, if you secretly dislike yourself, you will doubt that anything you have to offer is worth anything and so you will not sell with gusto. You will be scared of being seen as a fraud. And so you will hold yourself back and wonder why nothing works.
Be honest!
You are that person that deflects all compliments, aren’t you?
If I asked you what you are good at, you would struggle to acknowledge all that many things.
And even where it is plainly obvious that you are good at something, you would try to deflect the effort it took to get good, you would even make it sound holy – “Oh, it is not me, it is God” or some other way of deflecting.
Can I simply remind you that you are created in the image of the Divine.
You are created amazing!
It is an insult to yourself adn to your maker to walk around not loving yourself.
I did this for such a long time and it held me back no end.
Simple exercise – Start saying under your breath – I Love me.
I Love me
I Love ME!
I LOVE ME!
Get aware of any resistance that pops up for you.
Question it
Replace it with something that empowers you
Get to work making Great things happen.
Knowing that you are born for more
