Too many times, we know we need to get some work done…
Maybe you need to write a blog post, like I needed to do this morning…
Maybe you need to come up with an advert to market your business…
Maybe you need to do a presentation to win some business…
Maybe you need to write a social media update and want to use pictures but you cannot get the background as excellent as those professional pictures you saw on a competitor’s site…
Maybe you need to pick up the phone and speak to someone…
Whatever it is you need to do, you delay…
You delay because you want it to be great, you want it to look perfect, you want to do it so well that you will WOW the whole world…
And that ONE thing will catapult your business from obscurity to fame and fortune!
And so, as these thoughts build up in your head, you delay because deep inside, you know nothing can be that perfect!
And next thing you know, you have a long list of things you have not done yet because you are trying to get it all looking, sounding, being great!
After all, good is the enemy of great, right?
Overwhelm piles in and you dither and delay and put the pressure on yourself and you feel worse and worse and worse…
Enough already!
Cut it out! Just cut it out!
Done will always beat ‘perfect’, Done will always beat ‘great!’ especially when perfect and great mean nothing is done.
Remember this, YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE THINGS LATER!
It does not have to be perfect first time but the only way it will ever get to ‘great’ is if you put your good work out in the world and tweak it based on the response of the marketplace!
Give up on trying to find that breakthrough idea that will change everything in one foul swoop!
Start here, Start now with what you have.
And consistently put something out in the world each and every day REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU FEEL!
Good may be the enemy of the great but Great can be the enemy of doing anything!
