Freedom comes with choice.
Freedom comes with responsibility.
Freedom is more than a lot of people know what to do with.
And this is why many people prefer to live a life where others tell them what to do and when and then they complain about it. It is so easy to complain, moan, groan and blame someone else for your lack of choices, it is not so easy to accept that if you want to be free, you have to choose to be free.
And yes, that choice comes with responsibility.
And honey, that is harder than you think.
It is easy to dream of building a huge awesome business where people love and adore you and buy your stuff without you having to do much apart from be alive. I like that dream – I tried to live that dream for a lot of my life as I thought things would just fall into place without any effort from me.
My hopes were dashed as my passivity took me to bankruptcy and depression.
Freedom has to be claimed.
Success happens because you choose to be successful.
You become spiritual because you choose to be spiritual.
You expand your life because you choose to expand your life.
It does not just happen.
Passivity always leads to contraction, to getting smaller and smaller as you give up more and more of your choice in order to hopefully live a ‘free of responsibility’ life. I know you don’t even think of it that way. When I was passive, I did not think I was being passive. If anything, when I was told by my pastor that I was very passive, I did not understand what he meant.
Now I see…
I just let life happen, I wanted the path of least resistance.
I wanted a lot of things but I wanted them to come find me. I did not want to go do the work to get them.
And looking at me, you would have thought I had it altogether. I was ‘successful’ by normal people’s standards! But the truth is, I was always a ‘This far and no further because it seems too hard’ type of person.
And just to be clear, I see that there is a fine line between pushing and grabbing and being generally obnoxious in order to get what you want and calmly, deliberately choosing to expand, to be all you can be, to claim from life all that you want.
And it is the latter that we aim for – the calm, deliberate decision that we will have freedom, wealth, success in this lifetime.
In the growth of business, you have to choose to do the work to obtain the freedom that business can give you. If your business is part of your vehicle to impact the world, then you have to learn how to promote and market you and your business. It does not just happen. You have to be deliberate about it. You can have the most refined message and the greatest widget in the world but if you do not do the DELIBERATE work to promote it then it is all for naught.
And you might even feel angry with your ALMOST-prospects because they cannot see what you have to offer but honey, you have not told them enough.
You have to deliberately look at what you are believing about your life, your business so that you are free and clear to take the actions you need to take in order to get the results you want. It does not just happen. It really does not. You deliberately make it happen.
You deliberately keep looking for what you are not doing and you do it. It is a challenging road, the path of freedom, wealth and success but it is also so very fulfilling as you start to see you are capable of so much more than you realised to date. You awaken to the fact that you are pretty darned powerful and why would you then want to return to a life where you just went with the flow of things.
Now, you deliberately create the flow of things.
You deliberately wake up each day and choose what you want life to look like and you ask yourself what you must do next in order to make it so. Some days, it will be nothing but other days, you will know that you need to tweak your approach here, you need to work with that mentor or coach there, you need to write your message out so your people can find you, you need to attend that event to connect with more people etc etc
And you will willingly do whatever you must do to take your self forward.
And to start with, the money may affect you a little too much as you seek to create wealth doing what you love but then as you realise that you can, you start to do things because you must and because you choose to.
You get to design your life experience.
You get to choose who you be each and every day.
And you start to find your 1000 true fans who connect with the powerful person you choose to become.
It is time to get a lot more deliberate about your life and your business.
