Escape the Struggle Bubble: Build a Life You Don’t Want to Run From

By November 18, 2025No Comments

As a young girl, I loved reading. It was my escape from a world that often felt confusing, demanding, and painful. I could disappear into books and enter worlds created by the author—and in my own imagination—where I was the heroine, the centre of attention and completely, unconditionally loved (yes, I adore romances!). I could go on adventures while, in “real” life, I felt bored, restricted, and unstimulated.

And I didn’t fully understand how useful that skill of creating my own bubble actually was.

It enabled me to never quite believe that what I saw in the physical reality was all there could ever be for me.  In my imagination, I could see so much more and due to my connection to the Divine, I realised that what I saw in my bubble, was possible for me to create, if I wanted to.

That may sound childish to you—except a part of you has not fully given in to the sad rhetoric of people who insist on being “realistic” and “sensible” (which, to me, just sounds like code for BORING!).

But you are trying to live in both camps…

You want to appear reasonable, realistic and sensible to the people around you so they don’t think you’re too “crazy.”

And you also want to be the visionary—the one who sees what others cannot, and goes on to build it.

Because you do have dreams, goals, and big ideas but as life went on, disappointments piled up. The “sensible” camp began to feel like the only safe option… yet you still couldn’t completely let go of the second camp: the camp of possibility and opportunity.

And so I am a little luckier than you. I learnt long ago to live in my own self-created bubble and extricate myself from anything and anyone who tried to drag me back down to earth.

But even I have moments when I wonder if I am a little crazy… so I understand…

However, because of my bubble, I’ve created a life that I truly enjoy. I do things I enjoy. I have time for the things I enjoy. I have money for the things I enjoy. And I continue to allow myself to expand—and I EXPECT my life to keep expanding in the direction of more and more things that feel good. It is my purpose, after all, to enjoy being on planet earth (as it is yours!).

Every so often, someone, usually a loved one who thinks I’m getting a bit too carried away, tries to crash into my bubble and remind me how terrible the world supposedly is. They warn me I’d better do some horrid soul-destroying thing in order to hedge my bets “or else I’ll regret it,” and for a moment, I get dragged into the underground with all the fear, doubt, struggle, unhappiness, restriction and unfulfillment that most people consider normal…

And finally, when it feels bad enough, I suddenly WAKE UP and remember that I do NOT have to play the game of life in this silly manner. IT IS PAINFUL! So why on earth would anyone choose to live in all that noise, nonsense, and drama?

I shake myself off, lean deeper on the Divine, trust myself and the Divine again and return to my throne (my bubble) . Then I allow more good stuff into my life with ease simplicity and speed.

It does take courage to ignore the craziness of the world and simply decide to get what you want instead. Most people SAY they’re trying to get what they want, but when I look closely, they seem VERY DEDICATED to getting away from what they don’t want—and they’re quite good at that. But that same dedication is not there when it comes to going after what they DO want… so they never quite get it.

That cannot be you.

But it HAS been you for a while.

You’ve been running away from everything you hate about life, fighting the things you hate, complaining about what isn’t working…

BUT THAT WILL NOT WORK to get you what you want, because you’ve allowed yourself to believe that this painful bubble you’re living in is the only option available to you.

YES, my love, we all live in a bubble. But when your bubble matches the bubbles of the people around you, you call it “realistic.” I can see it for what it is: another bubble—just a more painful one. In that bubble, everything must be fought for, nothing comes easily, everything requires sacrifice and you have to pretend to be someone you’re not just to feel accepted by the other bubble-dwellers.

OR…

Come on up here and create your own bubble full of the things you enjoy, full of things that light you up, full of things and people that feel good to be around.  It may take a moment to make your transition as you have been soooo long in your other bubble and as I said, you do keep trying to stay in both lanes because you are afraid that letting go of one bubble will leave you out alone with no bubble at all! and then where would you be?

I know the post above is somewhat vague in detail…

And that’s because each person’s transition is unique and personalised…

There is no cookie-cutter path to a life you do not want to run away from…

And so I won’t pretend to have some “THIS WORKS FOR EVERYONE!” or “Just read this and your life will magically be better” formula.

Your path becomes clear as we work together.

In this initial session, we clarify what has been keeping you in the struggle bubble, how to let that go and we uncover your next step.

Sometimes, we choose to continue working together to keep you from slipping back into the struggle bubble full-time.

Everyone that works with me over a period of time, usually a year, finds that they are in a completely different and more empowering bubble by the time we are done.

So… are you finally done with promising yourself that “the next 12 months will be different,” only to look up years later—five different 12-month cycles gone by—and STILL find yourself in the same, or even worse, struggle bubble?

Let’s talk, my love.
