You have all these hoops that you expect people to jump through so that they can prove to you that they care about you…
And when they do not jump through these hoops, you make it mean that they are just out to get you…
Don’t you see the prison you build for yourself?
I know you have been hurt before…
Many times, probably…
I know you have learnt to build a high tower around you because of all the hurt and the pain…
But you want to escape that…
You want to be free…
And yet you refuse to let yourself be free…
You refuse to allow yourself to come out from behind that high tower…
And so you stay stuck
Telling yourself that you are alone and that no one cares and that you need to protect yourself…
And you claim that you trust only your higher power
But it is not true…
Because even the still small voice inside is trying to get you to move…
That voice keeps trying to get your attention but the fear keeps winning out
Fear has such a loud voice…
It tells you to ask people to jump through hoops to prove themselves to you…
Don’t you see that this is just you trying to control people and only the weak will allow you to do that…
Fear tells you that you need to put a cage around your heart…
Don’t you see that it means you will be alone forever…
Fear reminds you of the past and how hurt you were the last time and the time before that
Don’t you see that it keeps you trapped in a cycle of pain then protection…
And your vision, the life you know you are called to, remains out of reach…
When will you allow yourself to win?
My heart hurts as I watch you
But it has to be your choice
I will not play these games with you
You have to dare to move beyond the pain
Or you can continue to be a victim of the past
Your choice
You are always provided with a route of escape but it is up to you to take it
Will you?
Or will you keep buying into fear’s story?
