There is always someone ready and willing to give you their opinion…
There is always someone who thinks they know better than you…
Right now, I am in hospital with my little princess…
Yep, asthma again…
And as is almost always the case, the health professionals have an opinion to offer about what I should have done and when I should have done it and how this thing that i have been living with and managing for years is somehow incorrect because well, they think they know better…
I am used to it.
I generally try to avoid hospitals…
But sometimes, you do need help and so then I go get it and have to put up with all the ‘opinions’…
I get what I need and then I walk out, even if it means signing my child out because I trust myself…
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I am not perfect…
I don’t always get it right…
Sometimes, they are even a little right…
But when it comes down to it, I choose to trust me…
to trust my judgement…
to trust that I know best what is right for me or my family, definitely more than any person who has just had a snapshot of my life…
The same thing applies to life…
There is always someone who does not really know you, someone who has not walked one step in your shoes, with an opinion about how to do things…
All well and good, if you asked for help from that person
Not so well and good when it is an opinion with no foundation…
I have lived a life where I tend to do things that cause people to question me…
They do not see the soul-searching I do before I make a choice…
They do not hear the voice of the Divine within me
They will defnintely not have to live with the consequences of their opinion
And so I have learnt to tune out the nonsense…
I have learnt to ask for help when I need it
And ignore help that I did not ask for…
People sometimes think I am being arrogant
And I am sure that some people have waited for my comeuppance
But I TRUST ME
And so I CHOOSE ME
