Gosh, I spent soooooo much of my life being wimpy. Gosh, I spent soooooo much of my life being wimpy. I had the big ideas. The big vision I KNEW The Divine had planted in me. And then I lived by everybody else’s rules. I kept saying I was “getting ready.” I told myself that when somebody discovered me, gave me a platform or opened the right door, THEN I would know I had permission. Really? I was scared. Scared of losing friends. Scared of losing approval. Scared of disappointing family. Scared that maybe I really would be punished for thinking differently, wanting more and daring to live it. So I used spirituality, culture, responsibility and “being practical” as very respectable hiding places. And I stayed put. Until life whacked me upside the head. Bankruptcy. Then four years of depression. I woke up... And STILL took a sideways route into work that seemed more reasonable than the work I really felt called to do. Eventually I had to stop wimping. 🔥 Stop waiting for permission. 🔥 Stop pretending preparation was progress. 🔥 Stop asking the Physical Reality to approve the vision. 🔥 Start choosing what I actually wanted. But I was also the person who stood still. Far too often, I hoped everything would somehow work itself out without requiring anything uncomfortable from me. A miracle would arrive. I would be rescued. Yippee! 😆 That was the passive life. And I see many spiritual people still living it. My restraint and procrastination were often fear... But I dressed them up as holiness. And in those moments, settling can start to look very reasonable. Just stop pushing. Be grateful. Be happy with average. I get it. I have felt that many times when reaching for the next level. But here is the part we cannot escape: 🔥 We get to choose whether we settle. You can tell yourself the story of how hard it has been, how long it has taken, how disappointed you have been and why maybe this is as good as it gets. And because you are powerful, you can build a whole life around that story. Or... You can decide: NO. I am not abandoning the vision. I will deliberately design the life I actually want. I will not allow the Physical Reality to mesmerise me into forgetting what I see within. I will seek guidance. I will stay intimately connected to The Divine. I will follow the intuitive nudges.
