You are holding on so tightly to the vestiges of reason, of practicality, of being like other normal humans but it will not work…
You are trying to fit in, to do what others seem to be happy doing…
You are trying to ignore the calling, the whisper, the deep, hungry desire for more…
And you are trapped in a cage called fear but the fucking door is open, honey!
You are blessed to be so clearly called to something more…
But you also feel cursed because there is a part of you that is petrified by the call…
It is too different…
It demands everything…
And you are not sure that you will be caught and so you stay trapped in the fear cage…
EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW YOU COULD PUSH THE DOOR AND COME ON OUT!
You tell yourself that you are waiting to KNOW for sure what to do…
You tell yourself it is reasonable to get a clear, step-by-step plan before venturing out into the unknown…
And all the time, the hunger grows…
You get more and more dissatisfied with life…
You get more depressed because you are denying who you are…
You get anxious that life is passing you by and it is…
You get worried about every little thing because you are denying who you are…
Yes, you are blessed and cursed all at the same time!
Stop fighting you.
Stop fighting to remain in a place that does not fulfil you…
Stop trying so hard to ignore the internal promptings that tell you that you can push open that cage door and come on out…
Stop waiting to see a clear path from here to the end goal…
You gotta start walking now.
You will never be satisfied otherwise…
You can misuse your gift by using it to appease the ones around you…
And you end up feeling unappreciated and caged…
You end up feeling broken and depressed and anxious and fed up and abandoned…
but you are not really abandoned, it is just that in order for you to stay stuck in this current version of life that does not really demand much from you, you have to pretend to not hear…
And so you drown out the voice calling you higher…
You pretend not to know that this is not your life…
You pretend to be dead to the intuitive nudges…
You pretend not to know your purpose…
You pretend not to remember and so you shut down your internal guidance system and stay stuck in a life you do not want – you even fight for this life!
How very crazy and yet, I understand…
I did it and I still do it, at times…
Pretend not to see, pretend not to hear, pretend not to know…
Because to see, to hear, to know means I have to act on what I see, hear, know and that is just plain scary…
And so I drag out struggle and pain, until I finally realise that Nothing can be worse than what I am experiencing and I surrender…
And then, whoosh! On to the next level…
So simple, so easy
It does not always look amazing on the outside at the start – NOPE!
People around me are not sure what to make of this shift…
They resist it and try to bring me back under control…
I can, at times, get caught in fear again wondering if I have gone too far this time…
but deep on the inside, deeper than my deepest fear, I KNOW…
I know I am free
I know this is my path…
And so I keep walking…
breaking chains, freeing myself from the shackles of the past…
Feeling lighter, more loved, more connected, more ‘ME!’
And you know…
You know you have to surrender at some point, right?
You have to stop fighting who you are, right?
You have to come on this narrow path journey with me…
Or you will die with your music in you…
And you know you do not want that!
Surrender, honey!
