I was broken inside
But I was still smiling…
I was hurting deeply
But I kept up the facade
No one knew how I felt inside…
Not even the ones closest to me
I tried to explain to one spiritual leader – that is all I could trust at the time…
But my aura of confidence was too much for them…
I was a pharmacist…
Doing pretty well on the surface…
They did not get that I felt really broken
My finances were broken…
My self-confidence shattered…
They were too busy trying to appear knowledgeable and wise to see my heart
To hear my pain
To SEE ME!
The truth is, I did not trust anyone anyway…
Too many letdowns
Too many hurts
So I very probably did not show my heart… not really…
And so I carried on…
Plastered the smile on
I just kept going…
Wondering when my real life would begin
Because I always knew I was born for more
Always
I always knew that this could not be the end
But I just did not know how to break through
And no one could really see me
Thankfully, I could talk to Papa (The Divine)
I had had the privilege of learning how to hear back from Him as well…
So that was a very necessary lifeline for me in that period of time between bankruptcy and depression and finally choosing to own who I am
The Divine led me to various people
People I had to pay lots of money too…
Money I did not have
I had to swallow my pride
Get over the thought that everyone was out to get me
I had to admit I needed help
Take down the mask and allow them in…
And honey, I see you…
With your smile, your confidence, your mask
And I wonder what it will take, how low you will have to go before you choose to reach out and get help
When will you stop with the excuses?
“No money”
“No time”
“It is all a scam”
“I can do it myself”
“The timing is wrong”
Blah, blah, BLAH!
