Let me get right into what is happening with you

There is a battle raging within you.

There is always some hero fighting against a hostile world that is trying to keep everything away from them.

Or the person going after their dreams is painted as selfish, greedy, unrealistic.

It is in religion.

The very place that is supposed to shelter you often teaches that wanting a huge, expansive, prosperous life is selfish or greedy or somehow less holy.

It is in your friendships.

You start talking about dreams, visions, prosperity, and suddenly people are bored, irritated, uncomfortable.

But let somebody start gossiping or talking about disaster and lack and fear and suddenly everybody is all ears.

It is in your family.

They want you to play it safe.
Do the sensible thing.
Stay available.
Stay close.
Stay manageable.
Do not wander too far from the well-beaten path to nowhere.

It is in your partner, your siblings, your children, the people around you.

They do not understand why you cannot just be happy with what you have.

They make your hunger for more sound dangerous.

They make your vision sound selfish.

They make your devotion to your calling sound like betrayal.

They tell you that if you keep going after what is in your heart, you will end up alone, unsupported, abandoned.

I could go on.

This crazy thinking is everywhere in your external reality.

But all of that could not stop you if you were not still a little bit hooked by it.

If you were not still scared that they might be right.

That maybe you really are too much.

Too selfish.
Too greedy.
Too unrealistic.
Too demanding.
Too intense.

And so, though you “try” to pursue your vision, you keep allowing all that external nonsense to define what life gets to look like for you.

You have tried to squeeze your dreams into a very small, constricted world so you do not offend anyone...

instead of letting the world rearrange itself around who you really are.

You have dampened yourself down so you are not “too much” for the people around you.

You have decided you live in a hostile world and that you must fight for every little thing, against a universe that is refusing you everything.

You have even, often without meaning to, distanced yourself from the Divine because deep down, you feel They are withholding from you too.

So yes, you do the spiritual things.
You tick the boxes.
You say the words.

But it is not real in your everyday life.

It is not useful in your everyday life.

Because you are still living from past experiences, fear, self-doubt, old stories and inherited limitation.

And that limits you.

Greatly.

YOU ARE AT WAR WITH YOURSELF.

You limit yourself... and crave more.

You pull back... and long to expand.

You settle... and rage inside.

And it creates sadness.
Anxiety.
Tiredness.
Restlessness.

There is a tug of war going on within you.

For so long, I too thought life was hostile to my dreams.

I went through bankruptcy.

I went through four years of depression.

I sold all my personal, spiritual and business development books because I thought, clearly, this stuff does not happen for someone like me.

I almost signed myself up completely to the sad little “responsible adult” life.

But something inside me would not let me give up completely.

And though it took years, and many mistakes, and many tears, I finally realised that I was dithering.

I was procrastinating on making a real decision to create the life I desired.

I was unconsciously waiting for someone to come and tell me that yes, I could definitely have it.

I was fighting myself instead of fighting for myself.

And then I went deeper and realised...

I did not even need to fight.

I needed to be willing to do the work to allow in my good.

And allowing is not as passive as it sounds.

Usually there is a whole load of inner gumf sitting in the way.

A barrier between you and your prosperity.

A barrier between you and peace.
A barrier between you and love.
A barrier between you and the life that is trying to come through you.
