I put God to the test and He passed.

It was a long time ago, I had just been brought back to Nigeria and I was still trying to find my feet.  A little 5 or 6 year old wandering round a huge house trying to make sesnse of a different world where everyone seemed to speak so loud.  I still remember feeling a little lost in it all.

But the big test that I still remember was a result of losing electricity again just as I watched my favourite TV program and I was irritated that the electricity had gone off again.

This time, I decided to put all I had heard about this God to the test.  I wanted the electricity back on in 30 minutes so I remember drowning out all my doubts and fears by practically chanting my prayer that the electricity would be back on within a half hour.  I distracted myself by doing other things just so I would not let the fear in my head win.

I kept this up for the full 30 minutes and I finally looked up and the electricity was back on.

I was elated!  My first attempt at choosing to believe rather than doubt and it worked and so that memory stays fresh in my brain, 30 years later.

Another vivid experience of putting God and faith to the test was when I was a teenager. 

I wanted to get some work experience in a big pharmaceutical company and though it was far from where I considered home at that point, I wanted to go badly.

So, again I chose to put my faith and God to the test.  I had been told over and over again that even a small amount of faith can move mountains and I DEFINITELY wanted the mountain to move.  I refused to allow any doubt in my mind – I drowned it out with affirmations (I did not even know what they were at that point!) – I kept my mind focused firmly on my goal, did my best work at the interview, sent follow-up letters and then left the result with God and refused to doubt.

And yes, I got the job!

Again, this was a significant experience for me because I realised again the power of a solid intention.

I saw what I wanted come to pass and I knew it was because I chose to believe it was possible AND I chose to refuse to allow any doubts or fears take residence within my head.

I did all I could do and left the result with God, knowing that what I wanted would surely come to pass and it did.

The formula is

1. Get clear on what I want

2. Do everything I can to make it happen then let it go

3. Refuse to allow fear and doubt any room in my head by having affirmations that I practically chant every minute (you know how hard it can be to believe when all in you wants to disbelieve!)

4. See my chosen result come to pass

It was that simple.  Not easy but certainly simple.

And now, being considerably older, I have read more, experienced more and it is so easy to doubt more.

“It cannot be this simple” is what my old brain would like to say but the faith within me yells out that it has always been this simple but I allow doubt to hold too much sway over me.

Do you do that too?

Do you find yourself in all kinds of doubt and fear?

Do you think that everything you want is impossible?  And maybe you think that because you do not believe in God then this cannot simply work for you?  And yet, this is my grown up knowledge – There are certain laws of the universe that act whether you believe them or not.

It is like gravity – Whether you believe it or not, it will always bring you down to earth.

Same with intention & faith – Whatever you set your mind on to become, achieve and acquire will be yours if you believe it long enough to see it happen.  You do the work that you must do believing that the end result is yours and come hell or highwater, it WILL BE YOURS.

It is that simple.

Not always easy to hold the vision in your head, to keep believing when all the evidence seems to prove that it is impossible but if you will set your mind and heart on what you want and you will refuse doubt a hold on your brain…

If you will do the work you must do knowing that what you want is coming to you…

Your rainbow’s end will arrive.

The thing is, this formula is already working for you.  You just did not chose what you focused on and worked towards.  You allowed the status quo to be your reality and so you got the status quo.

You believed you had to have a responsible job that you did not much like in order to have a little bit of money to survive and keep your family fed and well, you got it.

You believed you had to settle for whatever life threw at you, rather than actively design your own life and so you got it.

You believed that you cannot have it all – You agreed that if you created financial wealth then you would have to have bad relationships…

Or you decided that if you wanted good relationships then you would have to settle for not having financial wealth.

Whatever you chose to believe is playing out in your life right now.

We may call them doubts and fears but really, they are just belief systems – They are not wrong or right.  They are just what you want or what you do not want.  And if you choose to only believe you can get things you do not really want then your life will be full of those things.

Your choice?

What will you believe today?

Because the moment you decide to believe something different, is the moment that your new belief starts to play out in your life.

So, yes, I ask you to put God/the universe to the test and see what happens when you get seriously conscious about where you fix your mind.

And here is the formula again to get everything you want

• Get clear on what you want

• Do everything you can to make it happen then let it go

• Refuse to allow fear and doubt any room in your head by having affirmations that you practically chant every minute of each day – Do not allow disempowering beliefs a hold on your brain.

• See your chosen result come to pass

Just chose to get deliberate about it, ok?
