The truth is, whenever I see this question from budding entrepreneurs, I also see why they are just budding entrepreneurs because honey, there ain’t no free lunch!
And if you spend all the time in the world looking for a free lunch instead of figuring out how to get the money you need then you are doomed to join all the other wannabe entrepreneurs.
However, I also recognize that most entrepreneurs get into business because they want to make money and so, they are usually starting from a place of ‘no money’ but the questions asked by serious entrepreneurs are of a different tone from the ones asked by dabblers – I KNOW because I once was a solid business dabbler!
Anyway, my first piece of advice and maybe sobering piece of advice would be to get a job for a season or do some freelancing on a site like fiverr.com or a site like it and divert some of those funds to your business!
I know, I know, it may not be what you want to hear but this is the thing, desperation does not sell so give yourself a little buffer while you buckle down and get to work creating wealth the way you want it.
However, some peeps are gung-ho and willing to jack it all in and go full speed ahead to their dreams and that too is okay but recognise the choice you are making and take full responsibility for it!
And my second thought is that there is no free lunch, like I said already…
You will invest Time or money or both! And the less money you have, the more time you have to give.
It is just that way!
So, what to do?
CREATE A LOT OF CONTENT!
One of the things people ask me about is how to get social media to work for them to generate traffic to their offers and then to get sales…
Well, if you do not have the money to pay Facebook or some other person to get your posts in front of people then you need to create a lot of content and be prepared to be VERY, VERY visible by putting all your content all over the place as frequently as possible. And no, honey, ONE post a day does not cut it!
In fact the truth is, even if you are paying the man to advertise on his platform, expect your adverts to work better when you are getting more engagement organically. It is just the way social media works.
It is social, after all.
It was never designed for business owners to hawk their wares – That is an added benefit for us so please do not take it for granted.
Recognize that you are dealing with people – real people and focus on that. DO not just keep thinking about all the money you think you should be making for free!
Ask yourself – How can I support someone today?
And get to work doing that. Yes, be strategic about it but expect to do a LOT OF work for free first and then you will see them convert into sales.
