Stop Being Fake - Face The Facts About What You Really believe

If you are Christian, you might read this and think I am unchristian but the truth is, I am very Christian but I do get fed up of Christians being too christian for their boots.

And the trouble here is that despite all the pious sounding arguments they put out there in the world, they do not live up to them.

OK, so I may be generalizing but seriously, I was on a Facebook Page a second ago where there was a quote picture saying the words

“You can’t be all things to all people. Even a strong woman needs a shoulder to lean on”

And in the comments as is to be expected, is the classic Christian statement

“The strongest shoulder to lean on is Jesus”

And, ok, you may think there is nothing wrong with that but for me, it is just cringe worthy!
The thing that comes to mind is “thou dost protest too much!!!!”

Because I know a lot of Christians and some are pretty awesome and really truly believe what they say but most do not lean on Jesus. In fact, my first reaction was to think “And how is that working out for you?”

Because if most Christians are honest… Actually let me qualify that…

If some Christians were honest about their relationship with God, they would admit that it is lacking in results. They are mostly not sure they can hear from God and they are hanging on to a hope of heaven at some time in the future but still scared of death just in case it comes too soon and they are not ready to see the JUDGE in heaven waiting them. They are living life that has been dictated to them by their parents, preachers and so on. They just think they must feel a certain way but are too scared to admit that they don’t.

I find it tedious and fake and also, I feel sorry for them because they think they will be judged for feeling what they feel.

On the one hand, God is love but on the other hand, He is waiting to punish you for some sin.

Yes, heresy alert!!!

I personally find it hard to believe in that God and wonder why everyone else accepts it as truth.

But that is a topic for another day.

Let me try to help you see why I find such floaty comments annoying – It is because there is an air of self-righteousness about it when the chances are that if you have to say it like that to random people on Facebook, then the chances are that you are hoping and praying that one day it will be true for you.

It is OKAY if you do not feel it yet.

You get that, right?

You are no less loved.

And honey, you are better off being honest about the fact that you want to experience more of God and that at the moment, you just are not feeling it.

And then get support in that.

Actually, discuss what you really feel rather than hide behind words that mean nothing to you or to the people you write them down for.

To end, honey, God does love you, okay? It is okay to express your doubts – That is a better way to get them sorted.

Find someone you trust and tell them your fears so that you can get over them, please!

Allow your spirituality to be something that empowers you rather than something that takes away your freedom.
