How To Use Social Media To Get More Recruits Into Your Network Marketing Business

There is an age-old tradition in Network marketing and it is all about the cold and the warm list.  You sign up as a new distributor and you then launch straight into writing out a long list of the people you know – This is considered your warm list.  You are then tasked with the job of approaching them all, which can be pretty cringe-worthy even for the most hardened of sales people.

If you do manage to do it, then your friends and family feel harangued and start to cross the road whenever they see you coming.

Not great!

And in the meantime, you are telling yourself that it is because they do not get you and they want to bring you down but really, it is because they are feeling hounded!  They do want the best for you but they also want the best for themselves and right now, their best is not to connect with you!

Social media gives us new ways of making connections, if you will stick with it and make it work.  The truth is, whichever way you choose to grow your business, it is a slow burner type of thing so you may as well do something that allows you feel proud of the efforts you are putting in.

1. Daily increase your connections

One of the big issues new network marketing professionals tell me about, is their dwindling list of people to contact.  In a world where social media connects all countries?  Really, well, I don’t believe you.  I think your self-imposed limits are clouding your judgement!

There are people everywhere on social media.  Deliberately connect with people each day.  Even ONE new connection each day adds up to 365 people by the end of the year.  And this becomes a bit of an avalanche situation so it is unlikely that you will only end up with 365 people.  On Facebook, you can use graph search to help you locate people with certain interests and you can send them through a private message asking for permission to connect or you can just press the ‘Add Friend’ button.  (Don’t go crazy with adding them yourself, you want to become the hunted and I will talk you through how to do that, in a minute).  Twitter is another place to connect with people and then there is LinkedIn as well.

There can be a tendency to stop seeing social media contacts as people because you have not met them in the flesh but they still are people with hopes, dreams and desires so ask yourself how you can position yourself as the person to help them?

2.  Raise your profile

To become the hunted so you are not running foul of some of the social media platform’s rules, you need to show up daily.  What does it mean to show up?  It means that everyday you are showing up in people feeds…

Social media updates…

Blog posts…

Videos… (These are incredibly powerful!)

Audios…

Social media groups where your people network…

And in addition to this, connect with people in their world.  Go through your feed each day for a few minutes and like, comment, share other people’s stuff.  Do to them what you want them to do to you.  Go into their own world and connect with their stuff.  This will also win you a few reciprocal looks.  And when they do come over and take a look at what you are up to, let them find a lot to get stuck into.

3. Calls to action

In the middle of all your showing up on social media, always be telling people the next step you want them to take.  Is it a company presentation video that you want them to watch?  Then tell them where it is.  Tell your story, in a video, of how you joined your company and end with a call to action, put that as your featured video on your Facebook page.  But do not stop there, use video to tell your story in many, many ways and link it back to going to watch the company video or having a conversation with you.

Of course, sell your products as well – Retailing your products can be a great source of quick cash and customers can become distributors.

4. Use What You Are Interested In To Attract New Recruits

Something that I have seen work really well is where the network marketing professional does talks, bootcamps on something that the people they want to attract are interested in.  For instance, you are interested and pretty good at Kick boxing and you sell nutritional products – Could you create a 2 week bootcamp where people who are interested in Kickboxing could learn a new move each day via video delivered to a Facebook group and then you mention the products or make it a compulsory part of being in the bootcamp to purchase the products?

Go on, think outside of the box – How can you gather people who are interested in the same things as you?  How can you make your products seem interesting and at the same time, potentially get new recruits who see the benefit of becoming a distributor?

Have fun with your business.  Imagine attracting new recruits while doing exactly what you like to do?  You can do this, if you will think out of the box.
