Did Jesus Have Work-Life Balance?

I listen to people sitting on their beautiful butts, talking about work-life balance and how they do not want to work, work, work all the time and I personally do not get it.

.

Why would you not want to do the thing that makes your heart sing?

.

Why would you want to hold back from living a life that makes you happy?

.

Why would you want to split yourself into boxes?

.

And then I remember that most people have bought into the idea that there are things that they have to do whether they want to, or not…

.

I remember that most people have money and/or conditional love as their masters and so feel they must obey the beck and call of whoever or whatever as soon as it says jump, in order to get money or ‘love’.

.

So, of course, if you have chosen that as your life, you will want to separate your work from your ‘real’ life and find some kind of balance.

.

But what if, WHAT IF the foundation you are building your life on, is just silliness?

.

What if you were just supposed to have one continuous life?

.

Some days, you did more of what you call ‘work’ but it is no longer ‘work because you do only what you want to do.

.

Other days you do more of what you call ‘life’ but again, same as above.

.

But actually you had no such separation in your mind because you just lived your life.

.

And I mention Jesus because I wonder if he ever thought about finding work-life balance.

.

Were there moments when he separated out his work from his life?

.

Yes, of course, he took times to sit on a hill alone and pray but was that not just part and parcel of his life?

.

When he was chilling with friends and then got asked a question about God, did he grumpily tell them that he was not at work right now so they needed to wait until 9am the next morning when he was back at work before asking such deep questions?

.

I kinda don’t think so.

.

I personally choose to live a life of calling at all times.

.

Not just between 9-5 when the world tells me I am at ‘work’.

.

I am always at ‘work’ and I am always at ‘play’ and I am always living life whatever it looks like in that moment.

.

Some times, I am supporting my princesses in their education and that is part of life.

.

Sometimes, it is my husband I am hanging out with and that too is part of life.

.

Some times it is being on my own and that is part of life.

.

And other times it is client ‘work’ and that is part of life.

.

Other times, it is going to the bathroom and that is part of life.

.

Or going to spin class and that is part of life.

.

I am ROSEMARY NONNY KNIGHT all the time.

.

I do not want no work-life boxes and therefore, I have no need to balance anything

.

I have created and continue to create a life I love. Why do I want to separate it out?

.

And then you get those who would say that my worth is attached to my doing but I don’t see it that way at all.

.

I am RNK whatever I am doing or not doing.

.

I am RNK, and I am worthy of a great amazing life and I am enough.

.

That has nothing to do with whether I choose to ‘work’ all the time or not.

.

I do what feels fun to do.

.

That is it.

.

That is my balance.

.

What is yours?
