7 Ways Happy People Start The Day Right

Every day, we all get the opportunity for a fresh start but not everyone takes advantage of it.  MOst people lunge straight into the day, having been woken up by family members or a very jarring alarm clock and so they spend the whole day feeling as though they are catching up.

Here are 7 ways happy people start the day…

1.Wake up a little earler than the household

If you share your home with family, getting into the habit of waking up a little before everyone else and even just lying in bed choosing to think up reasons to be grateful wil make the day feel so much better.  You will feel so grounded when yuo do get up because those few moments you get to practise gratitude will set you up for a better experience.

2. Leave behind yesterday

Yes, we want to learn some lessons but starting teh day as a FRESH day will mean you do not carry so much of the baggage from the day before.  BE HERE NOW is a great motto to have as you face today’s concerns.  Make a conscious decision to let go of yesterday or at least to work out any leftover angst by journaling it out and ask yourself empowering questions to pick oout the lesson and also to decide what the next step needs to be to keep today from being the same as yesterday.

Of course, it does not always work.  Some issues carry over whether you like it or not.  The thing to remember is that you get a choice about the attitude you bring to the issue.  Having had a gap overnight, bring your more peaceful, empowering attitudes to the issue.

3. Read something inspirational

There are innumerable inspiring books, videos, audios that you can consume to put your mind in the right place for the day.  Maybe, you have a spiritual text that revives you.  Spend some time in study and allow your own creative thinking to come through as you read the text.  Make sure you keep a journal and make a note of your thoughts as you read or listen to this inspiration.

4. Prepare to Love Your Family

If you are a busy entrepreneur and something of an introvert, it can feel hard after a time of silence and being alone, to welcome your family into your circle again.  So, deliberately prepare yourself mentally to be very welcoming when they show up.  Each morning, my princesses walk into my room about 8am – Usually by then, I am ready with a smile and a hug to make sure that they feel loved.  And even more than that, when I have grumpy mornings, I feel guilty if I leave them feeling like a burden to me.  So taking a little time to prepare myself mentally to receive my loved ones, gets me started off to a more successful day unhindered with guilt.

5. Make Sure You Are Focused On Your Goals

What do you want your life to look like?

Focus on that and put your more important tasks first.  Try not to get dragged into urgent matters that keep you running round in circles.  Write out your goals again and remind yourself why it is important to you to make certain things happen.  And then, with focus, discipline and consistency, do the tasks that you know will take you forward to the life and the business you want.
