1. Creating success in your business will take more than strategy
Most people think that if they can just find the right strategy then success will surely follow and that is true. However, you forget that you are dealing with human beings with emotions. You may have the best strategy in the world but if you go by your feelings alone, you will not implement it.
Work on your inner and outer game.
2. It is not all about the sale
Most entrepreneurs just go for the sale and count nothing but the sale as a win. Yes, you have to make sales but you must also keep increasing the number of people in your circle of influence who may choose to buy from you in the future. Someone saying ‘no’ to you right now could well be someone who says ‘yes’ to you in the future. Figure out how to stay in touch with a lot more people and increase that number every day.
3. It will never work as quickly as you think it should
Yes, you hear of those entrepreneur wonders who put their hand to plough and made a million in one second. But you do not hear their back story, you do not hear the many sleepless nights spent worrying and wondering if things would work, the money spent on mentoring and coaching that, at times, felt like money gone to waste, the many failures before finally, they hit the jackpot.
Determine never ever to stop on your journey to success, no matter how long it takes. No one heard of the dude who stopped short of the finish line – Do not be that guy!
4. You are not alone
All those feelings of up and down that you experience – the highs when nothing can go wrong and the very low, lows when nothing can go right – All those feelings are normal in the entrepreneur journey.
Remember this when you hit that low that feels like you will never ever recover again. You are not the first to face this particular issue and you will not be the last. The ones who win are the ones who stay in the game, regardless of how tough it gets at times.
5. Certainty is not something you will ever feel
Stop waiting for absolute certainty. You will never do anything, if you keep doing that. Get into the habit of acting fast and tweaking fast as well. the quicker you get something out of your head and onto the marketplace, the faster you can check if it is going to work or not.
Become well-versed in launching the minimum viable product – Test it out and get actual feedback from real buyers. Do not spend so long speculating.
6. The moment you become an entrepreneur, you become a leader
Your business will only grow as much as you do so take your role as entrepreneur-leader seriously. Asking people to trust you and buy from you requires that they trust you and that you powerfully lead them towards taking the next step. Wherever you drop the ball and step back from your leadership role is exactly the point at which your business stops growing. YOU have to stop listening into your feelings of self-doubt and you have to confidently lend your faith in yourself and your product to your customer so they feel at ease to buy from you.
Spend time daily cultivating a strong sense of self-belief and act as-if until it becomes real. You must deliberately be the leader you choose to be.
7. Choose to be an investor
Change that relationship with money. Most people make money, spend it and end up in exactly the same place as they were before they worked hard and got the money – sometimes, in a worse place. Do not be that person. You are chosing to change the financial future of yourself and your family so rather than spend every single thing that comes in, choose instead to save for the purposes of investing. This is the real path to financial freedom.
Start now to put aside tiny amounts towards investing and giving. As your income grows, increase the money you set aside. Use the money for its intended purpose and watch how much of a difference that makes to you.
